Adobe Sign and PDF/A

Is there a reasons signed PDF are not converted to PDF/A? Or is there a setting in Adobe Sign to force it to convert the signed document to it?

The Adobe Sign document gets encrypted after it is signed. It is not possible to convert signed documents to PDF/A.

That make sense. But the other way around is possible, signing a PDF/A document.
