Question

Adobe Sign - MegaSign : how to customize document content (not user fillable fields)

I need to use functionality similar to MS Word mailmerge, to individualize the content of documents sent out for signing.

MegaSign can insert customized data into form fields from a CSV file, but I would need text content to be inserted that cannot be edited by signers anymore.

How is this possible?

Hello,

When you create your document to be used with MegaSign be sure to make the fields you want the customized information merged to are READ ONLY.  Depending on how you are adding fields to your document; this will ensure that the data you are merging from the .CSV cannot be edited over or become fillable by any signer.

Below is an example of creating a Word document with Adobe Sign text tags. The "!" in front of the tag name indicates a field rule of read only.

Subject: Letter of Employment Verification for Sally Smith

{{!Salutation           }},

{{!Fullname            }} has been employed as {{!employee_title      }} at Smith Industries since {{!hiredate}}

{{!Fullname              }} current annual salary as of {{!date  }} is {{!salary       }}.

{{!heorshe}} works on a full-time basis.

You can create these fields using text tags, in Acrobat using form fields or in the Adobe Sign drag and drop page.

Here is more information on creating text tags - https://helpx.adobe.com/sign/using/text-tag.html

and setting up your .CSV file for MegaSign - https://helpx.adobe.com/sign/using/mega-sign.html

I hope this was helpful; be well.
