Automatic Status Updates working in Salesforce Production instance but not in Sandboxes

I have tried to re-enable Automatic Status Updates in two different sandboxes and are running into credential issues for each. I am using a username specific to the particular sandbox with the correct suffix and correct password and am receiving incorrect username/password errors. Attempting to enable status updates with a production login results in an incorrect organization error. Is there currently an issue with this? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Has the fix been reverted, I cannot enable automatic status updates in my sandbox.
