Question

CADES format sign

Hi all,

I am trying to understand if it is possible with Adobe sign to sign documents with the CADES format sign.

The file should then change the format from pdf to p7m.

At the moment I am trying to sign a pdf document but when I save it it remains a normal pdf file. I really need it to become a p7m.

Thanks in advance if anyone can help me.

I am having the same issue. The Italian government website I am using requires a pdf to be signed with a CADES certificate, with the file extension p7m, but I can't get Adobe to create this. Is there a workaround in another app?

As far as I know you cannot.
Adobe Acrobat Sign is PDF centric. What you may hope for, therefore, is being able to create PAdES signatures (I'm not sure whether PAdES baseline or extended actually is supported). But enveloping CAdES signatures are clearly out of scope.
