Question

Can I password protect "signed and Filed" notification emails

When a client esigns a document and complets the signatures, they are sent a confirmation notice. That notice provides a link to the signed document. That link is not password protected. Can it be?

Thanks

Hi Scott29956648g3ae,

Thank you for reaching out.

Yes, you may set a password to the document in advance, which is signed and filed. Please refer to the steps suggested in the following help document: https://helpx.adobe.com/sign/using/password-protect-documents-for-signature.html.

The password is applied to the document after all the signers sign it.

Let us know if you have any questions.

Thanks,

Meenakshi

thanks for the response. We do password protect the initial document but the question is regarding the signed and filed email that is sent to all parties after completion. It has a link to the document that is unprotected and does not require the previously set password. Therefore all the protection is lost.

Hi Scott29956648g3ae,

Could you please let us know how exactly you password-protect the document initially?

The feature we are referring to works the same way as you required. While sending the document, set the password option provided on the right-hand side window. Check the screenshot below for reference.

If the password is set, the link in the signed and filed email will require the password to open the file.

Let us know if that is not the case at your end.

Thanks,

Meenakshi
