Cannot add users to my Adobe Sign trial account

I am getting the following error when I try and add two users to my Adobe Sign account: "You cannot add that email address to your account. Please see this Knowledge Base Article for more information."

The users were added to a now deleted organisation previously. I have tried Adobe Support chat but they are unable to help me as I am on the trial version.
