"Cloned" fields don't seem to work for me

I'm trying to do something that seems very basic to me, but struggling to get it done. A new template I'm creating has fields for a name duplicated on both pages of the template. It would be nice if my users could fill it in on the 1st page, then it would be duplicated to the corresponding field on the second. I've tried the "Clone" field option as well as the "Repeat Field on all pages" options, but both just seem to create a copy of the field that is not "linked".

One post I found suggesting naming the fields the same, which would link them, but when I try that I get an error about duplicate field names not being allowed.

I had the same issue. To solve it, in the field properties on the clones/copies, change the "Participant Role" to prefill.

If the option does not appear for you, could you please share the steps used to check the document for a signature? It would be helpful if you could share the screen recording.

I have the same issue, the best I can get it is up to 4, 5 poofs back to wear I cloned it. I'vre refeshed and deleted, wish I could just paste the cloned field.

Thank you for reaching out.

When creating a template, please use the "Clone and link fields" option. When you add a form field, right-click on it and select the Clone and Link field option. Also, mark the field required if it needs to be filled. We have tested the feature on our end, and it works fine.
