Date Field is Not Mandatory aka Am I the only person using this trash?

Question

The date field in AdobeSign is not mandatory, and cannot be made mandatory.

I've spent 2 hours with Adobe's Indian chat support squad and they only parrot what is in the flow chart. Impossible to get to a Tier II tech with a brain that could solve the issue. Someone actually had to design it this way. Intentionally. And NO ONE has brought it up here? How is that? Are you all NPC's?

the selected date field in your screenshot is a readOnly automatic date field. There's no point in making this required as the signer can't interact with it.

If you want a field where your signer enters a date use the following setup:
