Digitally Certifying a generic PDF with Adobe Sign?

I produce a PDF document as part of a multi-party biz flow.  Before storing the document, however, I want to digitally certify the document with a cert from one of the AATL providers.

There are no "signers" to speak of in this case.  Is there a way for me to upload such transientDocument, get its ID and then produce a digitally certified PDF?
