I am an architect and I need to be able to take a pdf of a drawing generated from my Autocad program and add a digital signature and date. I also need the ability to convert a pdf file to MS Word. Beyond that I really don't need any other bells and whistles. Can an Adobe product serve my needs?

As you have mentioned, you need to generate PDF from Autocad program and add a digital signature with a date on it.
Then you need to convert the document to Word format.
For this, you can use the Adobe Acrobat DC application.Plans and pricing | Adobe Acrobat DC
It helps you in converting files into PDF and exporting PDF to other format files. Create PDFs, export PDFs, or access other online services
