Question

Email Names vs. Signature Name

I am new to Adobe Sign.  When I enter a signature box in a contract for my boss, it enters his email name instead of the name he uses to sign the document.  ie., name associated with his email is John Doe but I want Johnathan Doe to show up under his signature in the contract.

Shows up:

Johnathan Doe   2/1/2020

John Doe    2/1/2020

I want:

Johnathan Doe 2/1/2020

Johnathan Doe 2/1/2020

I tried changing my boss' name on my contact list but it didn't change what appears in the contract.  How can I get the system to put in the same information that is being signed?

You can create a custom value field instead. Just create a text input field, and choose email address as the validation type.

Thank you Allta.  However, I don't want his email address to show up, I want his legal name to show up, not the name he uses with his email.  If I choose the "email address" as the validation type, won't it put in his name associated with the email?  That's the problem I'm having.
