How can I edit one participant without cancelling and resend the whole agreement?

Hi,

I need to be able to modify a participant once an agreement has been sent for signature and partially signed. Currently we cancel the whole agreement regardless of who has singned already and send a new one with the changes, the problem is that it is annoying for those who already signed and do not have any changes. Is there a way to make modification to the participants wihtout cancelling the whole agreement and sending it again to everyone?

I am using the Adobe Sign API V6, this the response I get when I try to modify the email for one participant:

PUT https://api.na2.echosign.com/api/rest/v6/agreements/{agreementId}/members/participantSets/{participantSetId}

{
    "code""PERMISSION_DENIED",
    "message""This user does not have permission to replace a participant."
}

It could be related to Limited Document Visibility https://helpx.adobe.com/in/sign/using/limited-document-visibility.html

Can I replace a recipient?
Replacing a recipient works the same as normal with one exception:

The Sender of the agreement may not replace themselves when they are a listed recipient with a non-signing role, and Signers and CCs in my account will see all files is disabled

Hi Carlos5C04

Did you manage to solve this problem, as I have the same issue? I've realised you can only change the signer as the sender (x-api-user) but then I find that user does not have permission. Could it relate to the Group the user belongs to within the account?

I also have a similar problem - the API v6 does not seem to allow me to change the non-current signer.

Yes, it was a setting in the account that needed to be turned on.

Below is the advice from Adobe support, when it was resolved.

Best regards

Hi Nigel,

Thank you for your patience and support.

I made the same configuration under my test account as yours and ran a test
resulting in the same error.
I.e.
{
"code": "PERMISSION_DENIED", "message": "This user does not have permission
to replace a participant."
}

Could you please make the change under your account? Configure that as
shown in the attached screenshot.
Account > Account Settings > Global Settings > Replace Recipients.

Once done try to run the same scenario and let me know if that works for
you or not.
The x-api-user has to be the sender as that is what I have tried with.

Let me know how it goes.
