How to use my own custom Form Components in Adobe Pro for Prepare a Form

Hi

I have 100s of Word documents to convert into an interactive forms - a lot of them are similar and so I want to have a custom list of my own field components.; so that I can simply drag them onto my palette and they will look and behave the same (same font & properties) rather than having to repeat all the properties set up each time.

I thought I could create template PDF and export as a .FDF and then import the .FDF into a new document that I would prepare and then see my custom field components, but that does not seem to do the trick.

Is my idea possible in Adobe Pro > Prepare form ?

I figured out I could do it by opening up 2 different PDFs  - one containing what I want and then cut and paste into the other.  Seems like a rubbish hack than a feature but at least it worked.  Perhaps some other poor sap will find this useful.
