Question

I find no option anywhere to delete templates that are no longer needed. I cannot rename them nor delete them. so how do I do it? I see post out her from 9 years ago on this topic but that's 22 versions later and is no longer relevant.

From the Adobe home page, I scroll down to templates. I have 10 templates, 5 of which I no longer need. The only option is to open a template. I cannot rename nor delete a template. I have looked hi and low clicked and double clicked on everything I can find. what am I missing? There has to be a way to delete these. I am the one who created them.

    Hi @intuitive_imagee51b ,

Thanks for reaching out, and sorry for the frustration.

A couple of quick things, so I can point you at the right steps:

    1. Are these Acrobat Sign templates (the reusable e-signature templates under Documents > Agreements), or a different kind of template (like a PDF form template, or a Start-screen/project template in the desktop app)?

    2. Are you working in Acrobat on the web, the desktop Acrobat app, or mobile?

If these are Acrobat Sign templates in Acrobat on the web, the current steps (last updated this April) are:

    1. On the Acrobat on the web homepage, select Documents

    2. Under Agreements, select Acrobat Sign

    3. Go to the Manage tab > Templates

    4. Select the template you want to delete

    5. In the right pane, under Actions, select Delete

    6. Confirm by selecting Delete in the dialog box

Note:  this is a permanent deletion, no recovery once confirmed.

On renaming: I couldn't find a way to rename an existing template directly from the Templates manager. The only workaround I can suggest is to recreate the template under the name you want and delete the old one using the steps above.

    Hope this information will help
