Need to use partial field template

Hi all,

I currently have a five page PDF file with fields that are in use. I am creating a shorter version of this PDF and just need to use the first page of the original PDF. Because the two PDFs are different lengths, I get an error saying it cannot merge the field template as target document is four pages and the template document is 5 pages. Does anyone know how to work around this or just use a single page of field template?
