Question

Page Numbers and Description on Attachment Pages

Is there a way to have the documents added via an attachments field to have a page number applied, along with maybe the name of the attachment field they came from so that readers could know which pages were for which attachment field when a form has multiple attachments?

    Hi wstrain,

    Thank you for the clarification.

If you are asking about applying a footer to each of the attached documents, please note that this is not possible in Acrobat Sign. While Acrobat Sign allows for the collection of attachments, it does not provide an option to modify them. Any modifications, such as adding a footer, should be completed before the documents are uploaded as attachments in the Acrobat Sign attachment field.

If you meant something different, please let us know.

    Thanks,

    Meenakshi

    Hi wstrain,

    Thank you for reaching out.

By default, there isn’t an option for the workflow you mentioned. You can always add documents in the attachment field. However, you might consider a workaround: you can set the PDF's initial view to open to a specific page.

If you are attaching the same document in multiple locations, it may be helpful to create copies for each field and configure the initial view settings as needed.

For more information on form fields in Acrobat Sign, refer to the following help document: Field types

Let us know if you have any questions.

    Thanks,

    Meenakshi

    Hi Meenakshi,

The issue I am having is specifically that my organization requires the page numbers to be listed on a document, so that if physically printed it can easily be noticed if any pages are missing. Is there a way for Adobe Sign to apply a footer to each of the attached pages to add a page number counter? Requiring page numbers seems like a fairly common requirement for signed documents so I find it hard to believe Adobe Sign doesn’t have a way to support such a requirement
