Session Timeout Issue with Embedded Adobe Acrobat Web Form in WordPress

Hello Adobe Community,

I'm currently facing an issue with an online form embedded in a WordPress site via an iframe. The form is created using Adobe Acrobat Web Forms. A user reported that while trying to complete the form, they received a session timeout error before they could finish.

Here are the specifics:

  • The form is embedded using an iframe in WordPress.
  • The form is hosted on Adobe Acrobat.
  • Users are encountering a session timeout before they can complete the form, which is causing frustration.

I'm looking for guidance on the following:

  1. How can I extend the session timeout for an Adobe Acrobat Web Form?
  2. Is there a way to implement an auto-save feature so users don't lose their progress?
  3. Are there any recommended best practices for embedding Adobe Acrobat Web Forms in WordPress to avoid such issues?

Any advice or solutions would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you in advance for your help!

I have also encountered this issue with webfoms. To the best of my knowledge, changing the timeout duration is only availalbe with Adobe Sign Enterprise accounts. I have not found any way for a user to save his/her progress. However, depending upon the length of your webform, we landed on two temporary workarounds, neither ideal. 1) If the form is relatively short and straightforward, we had our staff write any long text responses in a word processor and copy them in to cut down on the session time and 2) utilize an e-sign template. For the latter, you can save your form fields as a template to quickly convert back to a webform later (I do not believe you can save form fields as a template from a webform) or have visitors request the document and use the e-sign template to email to recipients directly.

Again, neither workaround has been ideal and I personally repeated a lot of work to arrive at these workarounds so I hope they can be of some use to you. If you find the answer to your timeout question, I would love to know.
