Signature & Saving Issues

I am trying to send a contract to a client for signature.

Unfortunately, the client tells me after they sign the pdf, they save it. They are successful in saving the document but when they go to reopen it, the contract does not reflect the signature & initials that once appeared.

Does anyone have a recommendation on how to fix this on their end? The contracts are not coming over as signed to me either.
