Question

Two signers in person on an iPad without requiring email?

We are looking to create a consent form where the authorizing party will sign, and then a witness signs. This process would be completed on an iPad in person without sending to an email for signature request. The only email we want is the final document going back to our office. Is this possible? I seem to be getting stuck at having to enter email addresses. Ideally I would author the form, then a different staff member would prefill some info on the iPad out in the field, pass it off to the signee, then sign it themself as witness. The resulting form instance would be sent digitally to our office mailbox. No entering email addresses for people who don't have them.

Hi CoS-CMurphy,

Thank you for reaching out.

Please follow the steps outlined in the help document at https://adobe.ly/4a8b3C0 to obtain a signature in person

If you are looking for an alternative workflow, please provide more information.

Thanks,

Meenakshi

Hello, Meenakshi.

Thank you for taking a moment to share that.  I have tried that already, but it isn't what we are looking for. We are dealing with people who sometimes do not have email addresses (such as the elderly), so we don't need the eSignature verification that runs through the Adobe server in order to generate a transaction number/validate the event digitally. We literally just want to be able to have someone sign their name on the form visually after we have prefilled the other necessary data and signed it ourselves to acknowledge the information we prefilled is true.

One chat representative told me that I would need to upgrade from my Adobe for Teams plan (which has Acrobat Pro and a bunch of other CC software) to Acrobat Studio, but to me, it doesn't look like that would provide me with any additional functionality for my workflow. We got disconnected so I started a new chat.

The second chat representative seemed to indicate that my plan has what I need, but I ran out of time to discuss further, as I had a meeting to get to. I didn't quite think that they understood my workflow, though, so I figured I'd post here and maybe someone more familiar with the Fill and Sign workflows could help.

I've drawn up my desired workflow, in case that helps. The 2 signatures would be collected on the same ipad at the same time, without requiring the second signer to have an email. The first signer is the same person prefilling and initiating the process, and they do have an email, but I'd prefer not to make them enter it repeatedly if we can just hardcode the email into the workflow settings so when they submit the form, it goes to my office.

Does this make better sense?

Hi @CoS-CMurphy,

Hope you are doing well. Thanks for the details.

Based on the description, you may want to try out the web form feature for Acrobat Sign.

If you have a website or a platform you can host, you can refer to the help article here for an illustrative video tutorial: https://adobe.ly/48XTS42

Let us know if it helps.

Regards,
Souvik.
