Upgrade broke Signatures

After installing the latest patch from Adobe, (HELP-CHECK FOR UPDATE),   signatures no longer work correctly.  Immediately after signing if tells me the signature is invalid.   The specific form I'm filling in is a lot like an invoice.  If I change text it signs perfectly.  However, when I add a number and sign I see this problem.   For some values it even deletes the numbers that I type in.

- Fill our form (invoice) and sign fails

- Recreated signature

- I have duplicated this on multiple computers.

- Current fix I have found is to completely uninstall, reinstall and DO NOT do updates?   (I believe, 99% that the update is the issue)

How can I resolve this without  uninstalling and reinstalling all Adobe as this breaks the signatures that I already have as well.

thanks,

Kenneth Houston

Correct answer Meenakshi_Negi

The form is "ENG 93" and can be found on the following web site:  https://www.publications.usace.army.mil/USACE-Publications/Engineer-Forms/      (3rd on in the list)

With regards to recreating, yes I have used this document for years with no issues until the latest Adobe Update.  I have confirmed that it fails on multiple machines and I have confirmed that it is due to the automatic update that Adobe pushes.

Version that has issues:  2017.011.30110

Please do the following.  (this is not exact way we do this, but it will show the problem)

1.     Fill in any part of the form you want with text.  (just put "1" in item number, "Widget x" in Description"

2.     Sign the document - We sign the document in block "d. PAYEE SIGNATURE"  (you will notice that the document signs correctly)

3.     Do any of the following

     a.     Clear the signature

     b.     Start with a clean form

4.     Fill out the same as in step 1

5.     Place "1" in Quantity and unit

6.     Place "$100" in Unit price

7.     Sign the document as in step 2.  (now you will see that the signature does not validate.   I believe the exact message is that the document has been changed which is not possible as the signature is the last thing that was done).

I hope this answers your questions.  Please escalate this item as we are unable to properly apply for payment with the US Army CORPS of Engineers.

Please feel free to reach out to me via Skype or direct call to help resolve this if possible.

Thanks,

Kenny

Hi Kenny,

Sorry for the delay in response.

We have tried to replicate the issue on our end. However, it works fine.

ould you mind trying to update the application to the latest version available?

Launch the application and go to Help > Check for updates.

You may refer to this link Release Notes | Adobe Acrobat, Reader for details on latest version available.

Check if the issue still persists.

Let us know how it goes.

What software are you running under what OS? What version are you upgrading from and what version is it upgrading to?

All systems we have noticed this on is Windows 10 Professional or Enterprise

- Version initially installed and one that works with no issues is:  2017.001.30068

- Version that has issues:  2017.011.30110

This has now been verified on 4 machines all of very similar configs.

Hi Ssainc,

Sorry for the delay in response.

Could you please confirm if the issue occurs with some particular documents?

Please try creating a test document and check if you can replicate the issue.

You have mentioned in your initial post that "If I change the text it signs perfectly".

Please let us know what exactly you mean by that. Are you making any changes to the document?

Would it be possible to share any document with us on which the issue occurs? We would like to replicate the issue on our end.

You may share the file either here on the forums or in a private message. How Do I Send Private Message

To share a file, you may take help of the steps mentioned here How to share a file using Adobe Document Cloud

We will be waiting for your response.

Regards,

Meenakshi
