US government document e-sign

Hello,

Say I need to sign a US government form which does not have the e-sign feature on it. Not a big deal, but say I want to modify the official document and add the e-sign feature. I'm no lawyer, so wanted to ask the community (better safe than sorry). Would you advise against it?
