W9 Requires Me to Prefill

Hi,

I have noticed that since the upgrade yesterday, whenever I send someone a W9 it requires me to pre-fill the federal tax classification. If I send them ONLY a W9 then it doesn't do that; but if I send the W9 along with another document it does.

I was not having this problem before the upgrade.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Stacy,

If the other document has Anyone field set as required, then along with Prefill fields, it would ask the first person filling it to complete both the fields. Let me know if that helps.

Can you check if the other template you are attaching has a Prefill or Anyone field set as required?

Hi Rijul,

It does have an "Anyone" field set as required, but not a "Pre-fill."

For the record, it is the W9 that is included with Adobe eSign--it is not one that I created myself. So I don't think I am able to alter the actual template. Instead, I would have to change it each time I send it.

I am also curious why this happens only when I include it with another document and not when I send the W9 on its own.
