Hi everyone,

I am an Adobe Stock contributor. I have heard from many people that if you use the Drop Shadow effect in an Adobe Illustrator file, Adobe Stock may reject the submission, and that Drop Shadow effects should not be used in stock files.

Is this actually true? I am feeling quite confused about this and would really appreciate some clarification from experienced contributors.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Then the drop shadows can be more easily removed. Try both (different subjects) and see what happens. If a shadowed version gets rejected, you can remove it and submit again. Or vice-versa.

Where?  What platform?  Are they people you know & respect or just random Bozos on the internet?

That’s not true. Stock inventory contains many images with & without drop shadows, especially in transparent PNGs.  If you don’t believe me, compare your work with current inventory in the same keywords.

Are you talking about pngs? I’d submit without. Buyers can add them more easily than remove them if they want drop shadows.
