Account Suspended for the 2nd time in 3 months

My account was suspended in May, it took 6 weeks for the appeal to be looked at and it was then reinstated.

Adobe made it clear that fraudulent downloads was the issue ($24 worth) which I had no involvement in, knowledge of or ability to prevent. So I lost 6 weeks of income because of someone else’s actions. My account has a perfect record over the last 6 years.

My account has been live again for 3 weeks, I’ve been watching the downloads like a hawk and have seen nothing unusual. I received exactly the same ‘account blocked for suspicious activities’ this morning. Has anyone else had this happen?

I’ve filed a support ticket and appeal form again but don’t know if I’ve got it in me to keep going round like this. It feels very helpless to have no control over why your account is blocked, especially when they made it clear I’d done nothing wrong.

Mods, thanks for everything you do but I’m looking for other contributors who have had the same thing happen. I’ve filed a ticket and appeal through the proper channels again, I’m aware Adobe staff are not in here etc, I was extremely patient the first time around. Just looking for others in the same boat.

I suspect you’re in a region with an unusually high rate of fraudulent activity. Through no fault of your own, your account has become the unfortunate target of fraudsters. Adobe has an obligation to protect everyone & deactivate problem accounts.

Best advice: concentrate on working with outside services for now.

    Good luck.

Thanks for the reply Nancy. I don’t know why the UK would be a region with a high rate of fraudulent activity, I’m not seeing many others from here with this problem. If it’s the same fraudsters, why haven’t they been banned from the platfom?

It seems too strange a coincidence for the same thing to happen so quickly when I’ve had 6 years of no problems.

I’m already working with most other available agencies and will continue to do so.

Robots, probably in offshore locations with spoofed IP addresses. Banning works for a few hours. But they keep coming back.

My shopping cart was besieged by targeted bot attacks, dozens of attempts per minute from countries all over the world. They never broke through, but they persisted for weeks. Welcome to the digital age. 😝

Madeline, your situation… Sucks!  I ask you to understand that in this forum there are a lot of messages regarding suspensions, and frankly most have holes and lack credibility. Yours seems sincere, and clearly concerns all contributors that doing Nothing wrong has triggered two suspensions on you.

So I have a request from you that I think will help you. Take screenshots of both emails or notifications of your suspensions, after we get to review those I will personally “report” your post with my own message voicing my concern asking to your situation and address it with all of us, and will encourage all other contributors to do the same.

Consider that as a proactive approach!

It does indeed suck! Thank you for replying and your kind offer. I have zero issues with account reviews but when they are taking 6 weeks in my case, for something I have no control of, it’s extremely frustrating.

I am a genuine photography contributor from the UK with a small port, I’ve had the account with zero issues for 6 years until now. All I’m asking from Adobe is that a proper investigation takes place in a timely manner so we can stop this happening again and I can get back to doing what I love.

I’ve attached screenshots of both ‘Account Blocked’ automated emails, along with the reinstatement email and the appeal information I supplied today.

Thanks again, I’ve no idea if it will help but I’ve got nothing to lose trying ;-)

Madeline, please understand I question everything, only bc there is too much lack of transparency.
Every email I get from Adobe has their logo, also your screen shots don’t have dates.

Please include that understanding that as of now, I’m trying not to have doubts on your case.

I have heard of such complaints from other contributors. Unfortunately, contributors cannot control what triggers the flagging of an account if it is based on downloads.

Thanks for the reply. I was prepared to wait for a full review the first time but when it was clear I’ve done nothing wrong myself, I’m at a loss what to do. If there was an issue with a specific user downloading my assets why haven’t they been banned? It just seems too much of a coincidence that it’s happened again so quickly.
