AI Image Rejection

Question

Since October, Adobe hasn't accepted a single AI-generated image from me. The robot returns the same set of reasons! I'd like to hear from you about the reasons for rejecting, for example, this image.

Stock customers expect commercial quality artwork. This is what you're competing with in Stock inventory. As a customer, which one would you buy?

Try a different AI model. They all have pros & cons, depending on the type of artwork you're looking for. Most high-quality AI requires a paid plan. And whichever service you use, always read their TERMS first.

1. Midjourney

$10/month or $96/year. Struggles with cartoons and fantasy images, but excels at closeups of human faces.

Images created with Midjourney are automatically made public. It’s an “open-by-default community,” which means that you can only keep images private if you pay extra for Pro or Mega plans ($60-$120/month). Budget accordingly.

2. Stable Diffusion

$9/month or $90/year. Good prompt adherence & photorealism, but not perfect. Be on the watch for unwanted artifacts.

3. Adobe Firefly

$4.99/month for 100 credits. Firefly excels at photorealism, but struggles with other styles, and text.

After generation, Adobe also offers a number of image extras that give it a leg up on the competition, like Generative Fill (where you can change parts of an image), or adding text via Adobe Express.

4. Dall-E 3

Free, or $20/month for unlimited diffusions. Dall-E is easy to use & will generate one 1,024 x 1,024 pixel image per prompt unless you ask for something different. To its credit, images created in Dall-E are NOT shared with the public, unlike other services where you have to pay extra for that privacy. Dall-E has good filters for blocking intellectual property— good for artists but frustrating for users. On the downside, Dall-E generates gibberish text.

This is by no means a complete list of AI services but rather a brief summary of the more popular ones. Try them all and see which ones you like. But understand that AI generated images are never perfect. It's the Contributor's job to correct all artwork for accuracy & quality prior to submission.
