Question

Any idea why this photo was rejected?

Hi, I have a series of photos of meerkats which have all been rejected for quality issues.
But I'm struggling to see what the issue is.
If someone could tell me what's wrong I'd appreciate it.
I had to scale down to 33%
As far as I can see the subject is in focus.
Thanks

Why did you have to scale it down? I can upload pictures from the same camera here in full scale. You just need to stay under 47 Mb. The issue is that you can't appreciate the focus on scaled down assets.

Check the eyes and nose and edit the colourful reflections. Lift the shadows, and work the clipping on the whites. I'm not sure, but they seem to eat some detail. Then you could reduce the noise in the background. That may help.

IN addition, you have chromatic aberration.

Question: did you edit the left lower corner?

Compare yours with available Stock inventory.

The long shadows are distracting, especially the one in the foreground that resembles a dog's head.

The meerkat blends in with the surrounding rocks, which is probably good for his survival, but it makes it challenging to create a cutout.  So it's not ideal for commercial use.

Hi,
Thanks for the feedback.

I can see what you mean by blending in, but this was also rejected.

Again it looks in focus and stands out from the background.
The reason I'm asking is that all eight photos were accepted by Shutterstock but all eight were rejected by Adobe.

Burned out highlights.

The animal does seem to be in focus. Perhaps the shadows are a bit underexposed.
