Banished without explanation: My experience with Adobe Stock's AI policy

Hello Adobe Stock community,

I am writing to share my recent experience with the platform and to seek clarification and understanding from the Adobe team. I have been a contributor on Adobe Stock for years, with almost 20,000 images on the platform, all of which have been in compliance with the guidelines. However, I recently received notice that my account has been banned without any explanation or warning.

I want to bring to light that I am aware that Adobe Stock accepts images generated by AI, but requires that this be explicitly stated in the title and keywords. I did not do this for a few of my recent submissions, but I believe it is completely unjust and disproportionate for my entire account to be banned as a result. I have built a reputation as a reliable and trustworthy contributor, with a significant amount of my income coming from the sales of my images, which have nothing to do with the AI-generated illustrations.

Furthermore, I find it disrespectful that my account was blocked without any explanation of the reason. Additionally, I find it disheartening that my illustrations are being grouped with the other AI-generated images, as they are not simply outputs from AI models. Each image is generated with extensive research, testing, and post-processing in Photoshop, involving the use of filters, selections, and compositional manipulations. I then create a vector image on top of this, resulting in a final image that has an absurdly higher quality than any current AI is capable of producing. Additionally, this process removes any flaws or biases that may be present in the AI-generated image. As a result, my vectors are indistinguishable from those that were not generated using AI and required a significant amount of effort to produce. They are not plagiarism and are much more laborious to be made than the arts that many are publishing out there that are practically "copy and paste" of outputs generated by AIs.

In conclusion, I believe that even if I had violated a term by not stating that the image was generated by AI, the appropriate action by Adobe Stock should have been to reject the submissions and provide a reason, as is done for all other violations of terms. A ban is a drastic and disproportionate measure, especially considering that I am not a new user who has just flooded the platform with AI-generated art. I am a photographer who has been on the platform for years, and have dedicated thousands of hours and financially rely on this platform. I cannot understand how my account was banned without any prior rejection or explanation of the reason. I have reached out to the contributor support team, but unfortunately, I do not have high hopes that Adobe will be understanding and reasonable in my case. I am deeply saddened and distressed by this situation.

I would appreciate any clarification or explanation from the Adobe team on the reasoning behind my account ban, and hope that the community can understand my perspective on this matter.

Thank you for your time.

Losing everything I've built on the platform so far, losing the nearly $150 I've already accumulated in legitimate earnings from my photographs.

Who would have thought that something I went to do so innocently, with the best of intentions, would cause such great harm?! To receive such a rude response. That I would be despised that way! 😥

The communication I received was extremely vague, the opposite of what it should be in a case like this. Which is extremely frustrating.

So... when you contacted Adobe at contributor-support, what did they say?

Ah, it was a machine translation failure! I don't speak English, I used a translator, so I sent an email, but it still hasn't been answered, this all happened now, so I imagine it will take maybe 2 days to get a response.
