Question

'certain keyword or title errors'?

I've recently joined Adobe Stock and have successfully submitted a match of illustrations which have already started being downloaded by users, so I got excited and spent a lot of time uploading almost 100 more! However, the most recent batch were mass rejected for 'certain keyword or title errors'. I don't understand why, as I kept the titles and keywords very simple and relevant.

The images were of cute animals in winter sweaters that I think would be highly suitable for Christmas cards. Here is an example of what I added:

TITLE: Illustration of a ferret in a Nordic sweater, fantasy winter forest scene with festive lights and snow

KEYWORDS: illustration, drawing, christmas, xmas, seasonal, festive, cosy, snow, forest, woodland, portrait, card, ferret, cute, funny

I have resubmitted with minimal keywords now, stripping out stuff like 'cute' and 'funny' (even though these were actually 'suggested keywords' I clicked to add, thinking 'more info is better').

I've seen portfolios on here with 100k sales where almost every item has a misspelt title, with garbled English, so I was a bit miffed to have mine rejected. Any suggestions on how I can avoid this in future please?

How do you know that the keywords were the reason for rejection? Did you correct the error and then resubmit?

I have not experienced a rejection based on keywords unless a prohibited name was used. Naturaly, misswleading keywords can be an issue. British, American or eastern English is, I think, not an issue.

Nordic is an adjective, it would be absolutely ridiculous to have it rejected based on this keyword!! So, I very much doubt that!

Coke has different meanings, so to have this word rejected as a keyword is bonkers!

"I'd like some coke please." 😁

(Open to interpretation.)

Coke on the other hand can have different meanings:

No, rejecting a picture of coke (coked coal) would be as ridiculous as rejecting an apple (the fruit) based on Apple's trademark or Nordic like in Nordic countries…

@Abambo ,

You misunderstood. My intention is that rejecting the keyword 'coke' is just off this planet as it has more than one meaning.

What is the file number? I checked your account and see a lot of files with similar titles and keywords that have been approved, and none that were rejected for issues with metadata. "Nordic" should not be triggering any rejections as far as I know.

Thanks,

Hi Mat, I can't remember specific files but i am still getting a high level of rejections for 'certain keyword or title errors'. I have several right now that I just don't know what's wrong - for example 550344676, it's an illustration of a woman in the snow.

Title: Woman wearing a warm coat and hat contemplating a snow filled winter landscape. Seasonal watercolor illustration.

Keywords: woman, winter, snow, illustration, watercolor, cold, nature, outdoors, person, happiness, hat, scarf, coat, season, walking

I've already removed a lot of keywords from this and resubmitted, twice, and am at a loss because I see a lot of stock on this site with far more vague keywording and less specific titles than this!

Perhaps in the title, don't have two sentences as you have done.

Title: Woman wearing a warm coat and hat contemplating a snow filled winter landscape. Seasonal watercolor illustration.

Delete ' Seasonal watercolor illustration'

I'm wondering if it's "Nordic", which rather unfairly is trademarked in the US. The moderator might think "Nordic sweater" is a brand. You could try Scandinavian (though that might be a trademark), or northern.

Oh, good thought... hmm, I did consider that briefly but thought it was a generic term rather than a trademark! Hopefully they won't get rejected again... do I get another chance to correct and resubmit if they do?

At first glance, I also assumed that the term "Nordic" was the problem. There are many trademarks that include the word "Nordic", though I didn't see any trademarks with just that single word in the search engine I used. I doubt that the Moderators will take the time to do a keyword search before rejecting an image that could possibly have a trademark violation; so, I think if you eliminate just that word it will probably be accepted. Also "cosy" is the British / Canadian spelling of cozy, so perhaps you should add both.
