Changes in the quality criteria?

Hi everyone!
I'm having some troubles with the last submits i've made. In more than 50 photos submitted, no one was accepted, all of them with quality problems as response. I don't understand what is the problem because these are not the first photos I send, and until this moment I had a good acceptance percentage. Curiosly, the same photos were mostly accepted in Shutterstock where i often have more percentage of rejection.
I can imagine that the comercial value is not the best, but the argument of quality problems is confusing me.

Some examples, thanks:

Minor technical problems can be enough! In this case it was!

I will critique the two composting images as if I were shopping for compost images.

1) It's drab. Use fresh and colorful orange peels, lemon peels, and something bright red mixed in. The Fitbit on his wrist needs to go. It draws the eyes away. Also, I think it's just out-of-context, but the piece of cloth at the front of his jeans makes it look like the barn door is open. If you know what I mean.

2) This is more of a product image for the bin than a stock image about composting. Drab colors, not sure if the leaves are out of focus or motion blurred, rock wall doesn't help this at all.

Hope that helps and keep shooting!

Thank you all for your comments! I will try to take it account to future submits. But the true is that i have the impression they are minor technical problemas, as some os you indicate, especially all those related to white balance that is very personal (avoiding great chromatic alterations, of course) and easy to change to adapt the use. Adobe stock is full of images with very agresive white balances, of course I compare befour upload anything. No one of the technical problems mentioned appears to be enougth to explain that no one of the last photos were accepted.

And I am not comparing with several years ago, in december of 2022, I still had acceptance percentages over the 80%. And It isn't also my opinion, because how i mentioned before, the same pictures are beeing accepted in other stock agencies without problem. This was the reason to my question, to know how I can solve the problem.

So, thanks for your time. Unfortunately, I feel that i can't solve some of the quality problems mentioned.

It's not rock science, but also not personal appreciation. It's more about getting the colours right to get a neutral approach.

Hi @Óscar MT ,

Reading from left to right - the first and second files have white balance issues. The first file is slightly underexposed. There seem to be signs of noise in the water.

The third has high highlights, underexposed and has too much is out of focus. Always avoid blury forefront.

The fourth one is also underexposed.

Best wishes

Jacquelin

The two first pictures have oversaturated greens, the third has a white balance issue and oversaturated colours, the last could get a shadow lift and added local contrasts (clarity).

Kia ora,

Well, today is different than a few years ago. Due to the humungous amount of photos and AI, I guess Adobe is now being a lot more stringent - and they should be!

For your photos, one can argue about quality and I think the Adobe moderators can argue about the quality.

So, in order:

The huts and houses: the highlights in the clouds can be reduced, probably a bit too much saturation in the greens, and the shadows could be lifted a bit. The white balance could actually be tweaked a bit as well, a bit too green!

The compost photos: again the shadow detail can be lifted and the white balance tweaked.

I am thinking from a printing perspective. The photos need some corrections in order to be printed.

This may sound quite picky, but it is necessary these days to maintain high quality assets.

About pictures. Both landscapes - I don`t see much quality issues. Maybe you dragged out the shadows too much and there some tiny noise. WB seems ok, no chromatic aberrations, objects are in focus. 3rd picture - Adobe don`t like if foreground is blurry. 4th - I don`t see quality issues, but that doesn`t mean they are not.

@Óscar MT,

I see some minor technical problems with all of these.  Under exposed light, white balance, clipping, etc...

Perhaps you're just not taking the best photos right now.  It happens to all of us.  Some days we make heros, other days we make zeros.  Go back to photography fundamentals.  Don't rush.  Sloppy set-up, technique and poor lighting can ruin a good shot opportunity.  Take multiple exposures at different camera settings.

Perpare 5 of your best images.  Edit imperfections if you can in Photoshop or Lightroom.  Discard the ones you can't fix.

Compare your work with other Stock Inventory.  Is it as good or better than what Stock has?  If not, don't submit it.

That should cut down on your rejections.

Hope that helps.
