Clarification on Adobe’s policy for similar uploads

Hello everyone,

Recently I came across some discussions where people were saying that contributors should consider deleting already approved files if they are too similar to each other. The reason given was that Adobe might be actively checking for very similar content, and in some cases, contributor accounts could be at risk if many duplicates are found.

I’m not sure how accurate this information is, but it made me curious. Does Adobe officially recommend removing similar content ourselves, or is it safe to keep them once they are approved?

I’d love to hear what other contributors think and if there’s any official guidance on this.

Don't sweat the small stuff. And don't try to 2nd guess what Adobe Stock might be thinking. You'll lose that game.

Adobe Stock periodically purges assets from inventory that no longer meet current quality standards. They do this all on their own.

Do not delete approved assets unless you find an obvious quality issue or other burning need for removal. Leave well enough alone.

I haven't heard this rumor. Adobe did purge duplicates from many accounts earlier this year and did not punish the contributors in whose accounts they found duplicates.

And they were real duplicates, probably uploaded by error, as can happen, when you lose the oversight. The were not similar assets.

I haven't heard about this recommendation. There's a lot of nonsense talk outside of these forums. It may be, that some high profile spammers with hundreds of assets that are similar, will suffer account blocking, but not the casual contributor who has 10 accepted similar assets.
