Confused by quallity issues?

Hi Contributors,

 

I uploaded a couple of paper images from some 15th century books I found, but I am getting the "Quallity Issues" rejection with no details. I don't think it is the focus, exposure or lighting.So if someone could point me in the right direction I would be grateful.

Zoom in 100-200% and soft focus is quite evident. I also see artifacts in some of the images - blotches of color that probably aren't present in the paper. The last one also looks underexposed. Your camera should be on a tripod, perfectly parallel with the plane of the paper, with good even lighting and the lowest possible ISO.

    Hi,

     

    how did you photograph them? They look really blurry and out of focus. Maybe try to concentrate more on having them sharp. Hope that helps.

    Hmm, I have sometimes downloaded paper images. They are excellent for making historical props. Whether they sell in a collection I suspect depends on using very carefully chosen, customer focusssed, keywords. Simply using the technical description is not going to sell anything, Stock Clients are not paper historians.

      Hello,

      The focus isn't very good apart from the centre and in some of them the focus isn't spot on!

      So, in my view, you have focus issues.

      Also, I'm not sure about the commercial viability of these.
