Continuing Adobe's missteps, 'similar content in our collection'

This is incridible. Instead of thinking of a logical solution after AI images invaded the platform, Adobe made such decision.

 

Your photo wasn't rejected because it had issues, or even because it was similar to many of your photos, but because it was similar to photos they have on the platform...what?

 

You can't guess whenever your assets will be rejected for this reason, you don't even know if this decision is taken by a human reviewer or a bot.

After a while, all AI images begin to look the same, particularly if you stare at them all day every day as part of your job. Patterns begin to emerge.  The same face & body types, similar clothes & hairstyles. And why wouldn't it?  The same data that trained the AI model is being used over & over again to generate new images. 

 

It's the same with photographs. Everyone submits pretty pictures of sunsets and flowers. But nobody submits take out food containers, trash bags or electric car batteries. 

 

Adobe is trying to avoid monotony in their collection. The best way to achieve that is to inspire humans to be more creative about the subjects & keywords they choose.  In the long run, this will be better for everyone.

C'est de la foutaise, tout ça. Il suffit de regarder les dernières validations IA : absolument tout, à 95 %, est similaire à d'autres images déjà présentes dans la base de données.

Et quand je propose des images créatives, elles sont refusées pour "similarité". Apparemment ce n'est pas assez creatif pour Adobe.

 J’ai passé du temps à concevoir des trucs vraiment différents, avec une vraie démarche créative derrière — et tout ce que je reçois, c’est "refusé pour similarité".

 

J’ai l’impression qu’il faut être devenu maso pour soumettre encore quoi que ce soit sur ce site. 

Entre les refus automatiques, les validations absurdes, et l'impression que le système est calibré pour étouffer toute forme de créativité… on finit par se demander pourquoi on s’acharne encore.

 

Par contre, ce genre d’image semble plaire à Adobe : une glace flottante avec une personne déjà surreprésentée.

Ou bien, des bizarreries passecrème comme ce chat ou un bras étagère — j’en ai relevé un grand nombre dans ce style.

I can see why this frustrates contributors. It forces us all to take some accountability and do some homework before submitting content to Stock. 

 

Use the Stock Search Tool to compare content keywords with available Stock inventory.

  • Be Selective: Submit only the strongest variations from a shoot or creative idea.

  • Diversify Metadata: Adjust metadata for the unique attributes of each submission as repeating the same titles and keywords for similar submissions can lead to content being refused

  • Think Like a Customer: Imagine you’re searching for content. What looks redundant and what kind of content do you want to discover?

I understand, but this doesn't explain why 8 of 10 of the same images gets accepted and the others get rejected, you feel it more depends on reviewer's sense. 

 

I use Ai, but let's be fair.

Ai images really harmed normal contributors and others who work hard. Horrible Ai assets flooded the platform.

Instead of taking a real action -may be dealing with the trash which is already on the platform- adobe take other further decisions.

 

Be distinct, use different titles and keywords, Use less common ideas such as 'car battery', don't you think these things will highly decrease your sell rates?

No. 

 

In order to make sales, you must meet two prerequisites: 

1. Acceptance into inventory.

2. Provide customers with what they're searching for. 

Failure of either one results in NO sale.

It's taken by a human reviewer, but they certainly use a tool to search their database. And it seems that different moderators take different decisions based on the same asset. If you find this intolarable, you need to stop contributing. Adobe does not think that there is a problem with this.

I understand what was their intention, But they do it wrong.

Let me ask you, do you find this decision the best to be taken? Or would you think of a better solution if you were a moderator?
