I want to become a contributor but first I want to know - as a contributor, if someone who is on a 30 day free trail uses one of my images, how much do I get paid?

I can't seem to get an answer to this question from Adobe Stock.

Many of your questions can be answered here in the forum quickly, or on the Help pages, so don't bother contacting Contributor Support until you've tried here first!  If a free stock subscriber licenses any of your images, you still get paid as if they had a paid subscription. That subscription is $29.99/mo for 10 images, or $2.99 each and your royalty is 33% of that - $.99.

The trials are getting paid like all the plans. Indeed, the trials are standard plans. For @Jill_C's confirmation to be true, you need to have filled out the tax form, however. Without that form, you will get deducted a 30% mandatory tax. The taxes you need to pay (in America), depend on the tax agreement between the USA and your country.
