I heard someone saying that if you copy someone else's title for your image you may get banned. Is it true or a rumor?

With well over 400 million assets in the database, I doubt that Adobe Moderators are checking that your titles are unique, nor is it stated as a requirement in the guidelines to have unique titles. Nevertheless, you should craft titles that are appropriate for your assets, and doing that probably takes less time than searching the database for someone else's title and doing a copy/paste.

However, if you do copy and paste someone else's title and the description doesn't accurately represent your asset, Buyers might complain, which could initiate an investigation into your account. So why take the chance?

Yes, that may be a problem. It depends on how creative that title is, and how on topic for your asset it is. Don't copy, be creative.
