Could you help me understand the quality issue with this photo?

Hi everyone,

I’m a new contributor on Adobe Stock and I’m still learning about the quality standards for submitted photos.

I recently submitted this photo, but it was rejected for “Quality Issues.” The rejection message mentioned common issues such as exposure, soft focus, excessive filtering, or noise.

I’d really appreciate your opinion on this. Could you help me understand what specific quality issue you see in this particular photo? And is it something that could be improved through editing, or is it a limitation of the original photo?

I’d like to learn from this rejection so I can improve my future submissions.

When posting images, Qs I ask myself consist of:
Who would consider buying this image? I mean what market would need this. This is a very cool image and very artistic.
When would this image be used? This could be a good for educational.

I’m concerned there's not enough grasshopper visible for educational or commercial use.

Stock is a global assets business, not a gallery. And most of Stock’s customers are Adobe product users and professional content creators. So they expect to find content to use in various projects— print, digital and merchandise.

It looks like a small image that has been enlarged, giving the impression of insufficient resolution.
A similar effect can occur if the image is out of focus.

If you were aiming for a specific artistic theme, that is fine; however, have you considered trying to capture the shot so that the grasshopper is more clearly visible?

Slanted lines are almost always refused for quality reasons.

Also your subject is clipped which makes it less usable commercially.

Not sure what he’s sitting on, but I personally would have darkened it a bit to help the grasshopper stand out just a big more. I’d also remove the white bump on the left, as @Ricky336 suggest for the dark bump.
