Correct answer Nancy OShea

Work on composition, focus & focal distance (depth-of-field).  Whatever the keyword subject is, it must be in total focus because that's what people are buying.

As for the flowering tree, skip it.  Even it it's accepted, it's unlikelely to make a sale.  Stock has all the trees & flowers they need for 3 lifetimes.

When discussing the quality of stock contributors, it usually refers to the content they submit to stock image or video platforms. While many contributors produce high-quality work, there can be certain issues or challenges associated with the quality of their submissions. Here are a few common problems that can arise:

  1. Lack of technical quality: Some contributors may not possess the necessary skills or knowledge to capture or edit their content in a technically proficient manner. This can result in photos or videos with issues like poor lighting, blurry focus, excessive noise, or improper composition.

  2. Lack of creativity: Another aspect of quality is the artistic or creative value of the content. Some contributors may struggle to produce original or visually engaging material. This can lead to generic or uninspiring images or videos that don't stand out from the competition.

  3. Inaccurate or irrelevant content: Quality can also be affected when contributors fail to accurately represent the subject matter or provide context. For example, images or videos with incorrect captions or misleading descriptions can compromise the overall quality of the content.

  4. Overused or cliché concepts: Stock platforms often have a surplus of certain themes or concepts, leading to an abundance of similar or repetitive content. This can make it challenging for contributors to produce fresh and unique visuals, impacting the overall quality and relevance of their submissions.

  5. Lack of attention to detail: Attention to detail is crucial in ensuring high-quality content. Contributors may overlook minor issues like visible logos, trademarks, or sensitive information that require proper clearance or removal. These oversights can limit the usability and marketability of their work.

It's important to note that these issues are not representative of all stock contributors, as many of them consistently provide excellent and valuable content. However, due to the open nature of stock platforms and the wide range of contributors, varying levels of quality can be observed. Platforms typically have review processes in place to assess and maintain the quality of submissions, but some subpar content may still slip through the cracks.

Hi @Nadja Abele ,

Zoom in on the hand middle and the thumb nail. Rather than pink they look a bit blue to me. You could probably make the shadow a bit lighter.

The second file might have been refused because the flowers details was lost. It would have been better if you selected a smaller section of the branch and zoom in more to capture the details of the flowers with more depth.

The third file has a focus issue. I am not sure I understand the subject of this photo,

Best wishes

Jacquelin

I'am with flowering tree (DSC_8187), may be also with construction pit (DSC_8450),

but what is wrong with cables in hands (DSC_9163)?
The main objects - hands and cables are in focus. Or not?
Thanx! 🙂

Reviewers examine images at 100-300% magnification.  That's when quality issues reveal themselves.

Hope that helps.  Good luck with your next submsision.
