Curious about image rejection

Aside from the fact that Adobe Stock already contains 20 million technically and visually perfect sunrises/sunsets, pointing your camera directly at the sun without filters is bad for the sensor not to mention your eyes.  Your camera overcompensates for the extreme light source which results in unwanted halos, blown-out details, washed-out colors and underexposed foregrounds.  It's also good practice to carefully clean your lens & sensor or take your camera in to have it professionally cleaned.

Soft focus, sensor spots and noise in the sky, and no detail in the shadows. Sunsets are very over-represented in Adobe Stock, so in order for yours to be accepted, or ever sold, it would have to be unique and perfectly exposed, composed and edited.
