Custom Thumbnails for Vector Files on Adobe Stock

Hello fellow designers,

I'm a vector artist who recently began contributing to Adobe Stock. Despite my efforts, I've encountered an issue with designing thumbnails for my vector files.

Upon attempting to upload a custom thumbnail alongside my recent files, I noticed that Adobe automatically set the preview image as the thumbnail instead. To illustrate this, I've included photos of my uploads and the vector file after it was accepted. It's evident that Adobe didn't use the intended custom thumbnail.

I'm reaching out for guidance on how to successfully set a custom thumbnail for my vector files. Any insights or step-by-step instructions would be greatly appreciated!

Adobe sets, indeed, the thumbnail (or preview picture) on its own, generated from the asset. You can't choose a custom thumbnail. Adobe generates from your illustration also the JPEG file and, if your asset contains transparency, the PNG file. The buyer can select to download one or the other (or all three) to their computer.

Formerly, Adobe supported users to generate their own custom preview, but that led to errors and generating the PNG file was not an option at that time.

Thanks for your quick reply! I'm planning to upload a bunch of characters, like the ones in the image I shared (my designs, by the way).

Here's the idea: I want to put them in a zip file. Each character gets its own folder inside the zip, and in each folder, there's an Ai file, EPS file, JPG file, PNG file, and SVG file.

Is it cool to go with the zip file and folders, or is it better to upload each character on its own?

Also, if folders are the way to go, how do I set a thumbnail for them? I'm thinking of selling them as bundles and want to do it right.

That's a bad idea. Upload either an Ai file or an EPS file or an SVG file. JPEG and PNG get generated by Adobe.

What you could do is upload the collection as an Ai file with no background or add one background and one transparent on the same artbord (for the automatic PNG generation).

And forget the idea that you are setting the preview image/thumbnail. That gets automatically generated. You do not influence them.
