How can I delete my non-accepted images so they don't take up storage space?

Storage is cheap. These tiny thumbnails take up a tiny portion of the database of nearly 700 million images. Don't worry about it.

You're right, Adobe would do something about that, if that would be an issue for them. And anyone should strive to get less refusals if that is of concern.

Because they don't take up storage because the thumbnails you see are just square crops of downsampled copies of your assets. They will stay in your account forever. It's just informative, there is no real data stored behind, except what you see on screen.
