Question

Do I need to check "Created using generative AI tools" for motion graphics rendered from code written with an AI assistant?

Hello everyone,

I'm a contributor who makes abstract and business motion graphics (animated charts, network backgrounds, dashboards, skylines) using code. I write React/SVG code with Remotion and render it to MP4 (4K, 30 fps).

Here is my exact workflow:
- The code is written with the help of an AI coding assistant (an LLM).
- No generative AI image or video model creates any pixels. The output is fully deterministic: the same code always renders the same animation.
- No AI pulls data or generates anything at render time.

I contacted Contributor Support and they replied: "if it's just a script, it won't be considered as AI. However, if the script that is AI generated also creates the content, in that case the AI box should be checked." I find the second sentence ambiguous for my case, and I haven't received an answer to my follow-up question.

My question: for this kind of content, should I leave the "Created using generative AI tools" box unchecked? Has anyone with the same workflow (code-based motion graphics, with or without AI-assisted coding) been through moderation and can share what worked?

I'd like to label correctly, so any experience or official guidance is very welcome. Thank you!

Try submitting without the AI checkmark. It it gets rejected for not attributing it as AI, submit again with the AI box checked. As of late, there’s no second guessing how moderators make assumptions about a given image or video when it comes to AI or not AI.
