Downloads Dropped from 50-60 to 10-20 Weekly Despite 6200+ Quality Assets – Advice Needed!

Hello Adobe Stock Community,

I've been a contributor for a while with over 6,200 live assets (mix of vectors, PNGs, AI images, backgrounds, and videos). Previously, I was getting 50-60 downloads per week consistently, but now it's down to just 10-20. Here's my download trend chart showing the sharp decline since November 2025:

I've attached the image of my stats for reference. My portfolio is diverse and quality-focused—I upload regularly, optimize metadata, and follow guidelines. No major changes on my end.

Has anyone else seen this drop? Is it:

AI saturation (nearly 50% of database now AI-generated)?

Algorithm changes reducing visibility for large/mixed portfolios?

Broader market slowdown or buyer shifts to generative AI tools like Firefly?

Tips welcome: niche focus, keyword tweaks, portfolio pruning, or anything else? Similar experiences with 6k+ assets?

Thanks!

Harsh winter conditions in North America might be contributing to the slow-down. Also in some places, there’s no school, no work, no shopping.

If you have a lot of seasonal content which was sold leading up to the holidays, that could explain the January slump. I submit only photographs, no holiday content, and have had the best month of sales ever in January. I don’t believe there’s any overall slowdown in Adobe Stock sales nor an algorithm change. Since nearly half of the Adobe Stock database is now AI assets, many of which cover the same themes, competition is fierce.

For me also January was the second best month ever (last November was the best). I only do aerial videos/photographs and no AI.

Your trend is based on a short < two month period. Did the holiday season play a role?

Thanks for the insight - yes, the drop aligns with holiday slowdown (Oct-Dec). But January hasn't rebounded yet (still 10-20/week vs. prior 50-60). With 6200+ diverse assets, is this persistent trend due to algo changes or AI visibility limits beyond seasonality?

Maybe the upward movement was due to the holidays. Sales are not  based on the number of assets you have. They are based on the buyer’s demand, the quality of your assets and the amount of competing assets. Look at your “best sellers” during the high period and try to figure out why they were in high demand. Then you might discover why the demand stopped.

Growing ompetition. Plain and simple, in my opinion.
