Portraits, also animal portraits, require a crisp sharp focus on the eye of the subject. In your case the whole face would need to be in focus. Poor focus can't be corrected. As I'm currently checking from my iPad, I don't see all defects in the picture, but it may also be that you have an underexposure. This could be addressed.
