Feedback about rejected photos by quality issues

Hi,

I have recently uploaded these pictures and all of them have been rejected.

With 1 and 2, not really sure what's the problem, and with 3 and 4 I'm assuming it's because some of the sclaes are worn, and look burnt. is thath correct? I have already fixed some on the picture, as it looks it's an old and bruised snake haha but just wanted to be sure. Also I have been fixing the scales with the clone tool which is quite tedious, as I don't know other way to fix them. Any other ideas?

Kind regards

You might increase the exposure on this one. The snake's head is a bit dark.

Hello,

I think the main problem is the white balance, possibly focus - depth of field. You could increase the f stop by one stop, which will increase your depth of field. I think you could also try to add more contrast and make the image 'pop' a bit more.

The white balance seems a little blue.
Adding yellow makes it look more natural.

It would have been better to focus on the snake's eyes.
