Rather than focusing on popular topics, which are always going to be very competitive, concentrate on areas in which you have personal expertise. If you're a baker, take pictures of the baking process and the results. If you're an office worker, use your coworkers as subjects, with their permission of course. There are many opportunities for stock images in our daily lives.

Buyers come to Adobe Stock to search for images. Having followers on social media platforms only works if your followers are in the market for stock. While it may not hurt to link to your portfolio from within social media platforms, the advantage of doing so only works if, again, your followers are potential buyers of stock. Your best bet is to concentrate on strong and accurate titles and keywords and submitting assets that are unique and in demand.

Gracias, Danielle

It's tricky. There are subjects that are in demand by the many (where the competition is tough), and subjects that are in demand by a few (with less competition, but a limited number of potential buyers). So it doesn't hurt to mix things up. If you're working outside of topics that are normally in demand, that's not always a bad thing. You still might get buyers who can't find what you are providing on any other stock site.
