This image was sold for $2.69 USD, but, my account was credited with $0.99 USD. Why would I want to know?

$2.69 is the total of all sales, not just the one shown in the email. You can see the details of all assets sold by going to clicking "View My Statistics" above the graph on your Dashboard page, then click "Activity" in the Select Data Type drop down selection on the upper left corner of the screen.

$2.69 is the total of all sales, not just the one shown in the email. The $2.69 refers to the total amount you made from sales the day previously. Adobe only includes one example from among the assets sold.
