Hi,

I would like to ask some questions that are not completely clear for me even after reading the terms of usage.

1) Can you get banned for low approval rate? If yes is there any warning beforehand given to the contributor or is there any fixed percentage number that automatically makes you banned if you rejecton rate goes above X%?

2) About submitting similar images - I know for a fact that this can get you banned but what I am not sure about is:

-If for example I have three different pictures of a beekeeper in work, they are really different. Different poses, camera angles etc. and I upload them under EXACTLY the same title and keywords, could it be considered a spam?

-In the submitting guidelines they recommend to not upload more than 3 variations of the same image, but I was wondering if for example someone is uploading for years and his upload goes in ten of thousands it is really easy to forget what is in your portfolio and in the end you can end up uploading way more than 3 of similar images, for example you upload some 5 years ago, then you forget and you uploaded another batch of similar images. Does anyone have any knowgledge on that specific case?

There is no automatic banning and accounts get suspended without notice. I suppose that many people having many rejections over a longer time have many additional issues. In general, you should see a lower number of rejections after having learned by prior rejections.

You don't get banned for having 4 similar assets. You get banned if you "massively" and "systematically" submit similar pictures.

You should not upload batches of similar assets. Period. Best is to keep some trace of what you uploaded and what you did not upload. How you do that is your issue.

You won't get banned for two or three similar assets, uploaded in a 5 years period. Adobe won't even see. Accounts that get banned have probably easily to spot violations, or get many customer complaints. Reading the guidelines and conforming is the most important thing you can do to avoid getting banned. You also should consider, that some rules are moving. Sometimes changes occur and you should be aware of those changes by regularily visiting the guidelines and following Adobe's blog posts on stock.

1. We don't know whether a low acceptance rate, in and of itself, will get you banned; however, I presume that if your account is investigated for other violations, a low acceptance rate "might" be one of the factors Adobe uses to determine whether that should be a permanent ban.

2. Multiple poses from the same series / photo session, if they are significantly different, aren't considered spam, even if you use identical titles and keywords.
3. You really need an asset management strategy to make sure you don't load duplicate images or violate the spam guidelines. I keep all my images in Lightroom Classic, and use the built-in Adobe Stock Publish Service to send them to my Adobe Stock page. I add the keywords "Adobe Stock" to each submitted image in LRC and add a green color label to every submitted image. I add another keyword to every rejected image "ASR" for Adobe Stock Reject. This procedure allows me to tell at a glance whether I've already submitted the asset.

I do it slightly differently, creating different stacks for different subjects, including the Rejects. 🙂

1) Possibly. And no, you would not get a warning other than logging into your dashboard and seeing a notice to contact Adobe. We don't know the cut-off point, but a contributor should maintain a minimum of a 50% rejection rate with signs of approval over time.

2) As described, this would be fine. But if there are any distinctive differences between one and the other, this should be noted in the title or keywords when possible.

3) I think you might be over-thinking the "too many similars" issue.
