Question

Hi everyone, I submitted three very similar photos for review. I understand the “similar content” rejection, but I’m confused why all three were rejected instead of accepting the best one. Do you try resubmitting one later? Thanks!

I recently submitted three very similar photos for review. I understand the “similar content” rejection, but what confuses me is that all three were rejected. Why weren’t two rejected and one accepted as the best shot? Also, do you usually try resubmitting just one of them after a few days? Thanks in advance for your advice!

Don’t bother with text. Any designer can easily add the message they want to convey, but when you add text, you eliminate your image from consideration because they have to go to the trouble of erasing it…

The Contributor’s job is to curate assets from a series, and submit ONLY the BEST ONE.

Each submission should be UNIQUE. That’s the best way to avoid penalties for spamming. 😉

This is what Adobe Stock says about ‘Similar Content.’  Before submitting, compare your work with available Stock inventory to see if Stock needs what you’re selling.

This goes for commonly used metadata, too. Choose less common keywords, titles & descriptions to distinguish your content from other assets in web searches.

I agree with @RALPH_L about text on images. It’s bad for sales. Stock is a global service. Most customers don’t use English as a primary language. Let customers decide which languages, fonts and messages to add after purchase.

    Hope that helps.

And while we’re on the subject, you should also try to bring out more detail in select areas. So much as a soft fingernail will get an asset rejected for quality issues. I always look for areas that require improvement and run them through Gemini 3 requesting more accuracy and detail, as I did here for the hand and shorts.

The similarity issue aside, this is overexposed in the highlights and underexposed in the shadows. Nano Banana? It tends to do that on occasion. The histogram is your friend. :)

The subject is out of focus.

You should either shoot with a smaller aperture or sharpen the image in post-processing.

    Hey @Anka_1291

Take a moment and look what has been submitted to Adobe Stock: Fitness Men
    2 million plus photos.

From there you can target images where there is a gap in the market. When doing photo shoots like this, consider having the person wear a blue shirt. Blue really helps bring out skin colours.

Fitness man wearing a blue shirt
    4100 images massive difference from 2 000 000+ images

Man Stretching wearing a blue shirt
658 images again a massive difference even from 4100 images

    Cheers

    Nate

Do not repeat submissions that are this similar. Repeat offenses will result in your account getting suspended. Also, avoid using text. Allow you customer to add their own text. This will increase your overall group of potential buyers.
Now to your photo, first of all, I assume you submitted a model release. If not, be sure to submit one.
Your photo also has quality issues. Mainly the exposure. Look at the histogram below. You have error in the shadows and the highlights. Indicated by the highlighted triangles and the spikes on the left and right side. This causes all details to be lost in those areas. This alone will result in a rejection.

If the rejection is due to similar content (instead of similar content on the Adobe stock collection) it means that the photos (all of them) are too similar to already submitted and accepted images os your own portfolio. Do you have more photos from the same shooting (same model action and background) already accepted?

Hi, I think the Similar Content rejection comes from comparing your submission to existing Adobe Stock content.

If you try resubmitting any of these photos, changing the title and tags often helps with acceptance. However, be careful when submitting nearly identical images or resubmitting previously rejected ones, as this may be considered spam.
