Question

How is this video a similar content in Adobe Stock's collection?

Hello everyone,

I am a new contributor in Adobe Stock. However, I already faced a lot of rejection showing the reason of similarity in content. Eventually, I stopped contributing images/vectors. I have started to concentrate on videos (motion graphics). Recently, I submitted a looping motion graphics video as attached/linked herewith. But it was also rejected on similarity issue. Creating a motion graphics work involves a lot of efforts and works. But, this is frustrating to have the work rejected showing “similarity in collection”.

Video I Submitted

Could you please show me how this content is too similar and repetitive in Adobe Stock collection?

Looking forward to your kind responses.

Regards

We all are Adobe Stock partners, and if you choose not to see yourself as one is none of my business nor do I need you to agree with that.

I have obligations and so do they. I can choose to walk away, and they the right to send me on my way should I violate their rules. As for deactivated accounts, I doubt most are for lack of reading the Contributor User Guide & TERMS of Agreement. Most seem related to AI content, and I strongly suspect those cancellations are mostly related to contributors using (stealing) someone else's image to prompt AI the creation of a new one and make it their own... that’s fraud and have ZERO sympathy for these people.

I agree with you that as a partner I have the obligation to know all the guidelines Adobe demands from me, which is why when I’m in doubt I ask my favorite AI Grok to help me when in doubt, saving me time and taking me directly to the Adobe reference page answering my questions. And I feel very confident I am a Great Partner for Adobe Stock, I follow all their rules = I’m a professional, my work is good enough, I contribute regularly, I pay zero attention to the competition I face.

It took me 5 months to sell the first 100 assets, and now less than 2 weeks, making me feel confident my sales projections will continue to grow.

And yes once in a while when I feel very strongly, I resubmit an asset when I believe a moderator wrongly rejected it, and most of those times it gets accepted.

Have a wonderful day!

I can’t lie. You have a HUGE amount of competition in backgrounds— static and animated.

https://stock.adobe.com/search?k=backgrounds 15 million results

https://stock.adobe.com/search?k=animated+backgrounds  1.5 million results

https://stock.adobe.com/search?k=motion+backgrounds

With so much competing inventory, this won’t get the visibility it deserves.

Hope that helps.

I know that. Millions of similar items are doing competition. It does not necessarily mean that Adobe Stock should reject on this ground. If that would be the case, then Adobe Stock should ban the submission of further motion/animated backgrounds. Look, Ms. OShea, “Similarity” is not equal to “uniqueness”. Say, I have a shirt with certain design. Now, my friend likes it. He will go to the shop and will look for a “SIMILAR” design shirt, but “unique” at the same time. So, SIMILARITY should not be the reason of rejection. Regarding getting visibility, I am not asking Adobe Stock to give exposure to my work(s). Rather, let me learn over time how my product(s) get exposure.

Regarding the title and keywords as mentioned by others, look, all the human use same dictionary. So, it is obvious that wordings in title and keywords may match. I am well aware of using brand name, intellectual proprietary and I did not use anything violating these rules.

I think we'd all like the freedom to build our portfolios our own way, based solely on our own judgment, on a platform as good and visible as Adobe Stock. But the reality is that the terms themselves explicitly state that providing a reason for an asset's rejection is a courtesy.

The company is simply trying to make a profit, just like any other business. And spending resources maintaining assets they believe are redundant or unlikely to sell would not be a sensible business decision.

I know how it feels to lose the time invested in an asset that doesn't even get accepted. Just yesterday, I spent hours editing several videos that were rejected almost instantly.

Great animation for video introduction, credits… I don’t mean to discourage you or keep you away from creating these animations. The problem you could be facing is that anyone who needs animations knows that in YouTube we can find lots of great royalty free animations for download, and Adobe Stock is also aware of that.

Adobe Inc. is facing lots of stress from the AI disruption, and in that process AI content creation has gotten out of control. Your work is great, like others have mentioned, titles and keywords are imperative, I suppose buyers don’t want to spend too much time going over videos trying to find what they like, and these animations forces them to it.

I strongly encourage you to use your skills shooting short videos in 4k iPhones have amazing anti shake features that give great quality. You just have to be curious and get clean shots. Just be very mindful of signage or anything that brands people, locations or equipment.

Best to you!

Your assets are fantastic.
However, they won't be purchased unless they appear high in search results.
There's no point in registering a large number of assets that won't sell.

Nice work. As we have been stating for over a year now, we have no way of knowing exactly what the rejection reason “similar content” is based on.

What we do know, is that it could be one of the following:

  1. too many similar assets in the database
  2. too many similar assets in your portfolio
  3. too many similar assets in your submission
  4. metadata is similar to several assets in the database
  5. metadata is similar to several assets in your portfolio
  6. the moderator clicked the wrong rejection reason

Unfortunately, we have no clue what actually happened. They just show a generic similarity reason and provide a link to their guideline. Instead of showing/telling the tailored, narrowed-down and specific cause of rejection, they expect people will sit with a magnifying glass and thoroughly scan their guidelines to find out which sin he/she had committed by submitting his work.

==========

This forum is filled with posts from deactivated contributors who didn’t take time to read the Contributor User Guide & TERMS of Agreement until it was too late. It’s sad because that’s such a basic requirement.

While assets themselves may be similar, assets with similar titles or keywords will also be rejected.
If a large number of assets with similar titles and keywords are registered, it will be difficult for your asset to appear in search results.
You need to correctly set titles and keywords that match the content of your asset.
Furthermore, if your theme is common, you need to create a work with a unique theme.

  1. What do you mean by “common theme”? Also, can works not be under the umbrella of a common theme? Why is not Adobe Stock letting the customer choose what is good in his/her point of view?
  2. I do NOT think that I incorrectly set titles and keywords. I did not choose any wording in title or keywords which is/are out of scope/context. I think that Adobe should not do policing on the title and keywords. Why are not they implementing automated titling and keywording system. This is the era of AI and implementing such a system is not that difficult in this time.
