I want to be a voice of encouragement with a dose of reality check, and tips on what’s working for me.

I’m a professional photographer, so for me it was easy pulling 1000 existing photos when I started January of last year, and was able to add about 150 per month the first 5 months.  It took 5 months to sell the first 100 photos, and here is the thing those 100 photos were less than 10% of my library. In June 2025 I committed to uploading a minimum of 100 photos per month, and also started shooting short iPhone and drone videos. It took ½ the time to sell the next 100 assets, and about 6 weeks for the following 100.

All algorithms move in similar ways, consistent contributions help, more sales bring more exposure to work and that means more sales. The opposite works the same unfavorable way. I don’t know what kind of files you’re creating and don’t want to assume it’s only AI videos. It is possible to have much better percentage of work to sales ratio than me, but the fact you haven't made sales yet, show otherwise. 65 files in 4 months is about 16 per week, that is not a lot. What’s your background?

Consistency goes to the core of your question. Set yourself realistic goals (with delayed gratification in mind) and focus in creating work that will have more demand than cute flowers, cats or sunsets, unless you are adding HUMAN ELEMENT to these shots. Some here will disagree, I HAVE NOT CARED ONCE to see how many shots of anything there is or what I’m competing against. My work is as unique as I am, and so are you.

Here is the thing, by October last year I could see where my trend was going, and what was selling more, and there hasn’t been a month I have not contributed at least 100 new photos and videos. Today on my 19th month since starting with Adobe Stock and Getty Images, my visibility keeps increasing, and the earnings and downloads  accelerating as well.

Are you or could you make conventional photos and videos. If you need help with that, follow me and DM me. I have material and information that will help you, and I’ll be happy to share with you.

Above all, have fun doing this. If you’re not, it’s not worth it!

    Cheers!

Thank you so much for the reality check and the encouraging words! I really appreciate you sharing your journey and experience.

To answer your question, my focus is on creating high-quality, 4K 60fps AI-generated videos. I specialize in advanced technology, robotics, neural networks, and futuristic themes.

You are completely right about consistency and portfolio size. I actually have a repository of about 1,500 video clips fully ready in my gallery. Following your and Danielle's advice, I am now going to focus on uploading them regularly to scale my portfolio quickly

Thank you for your valuable advice. I will keep working and focus on increasing my portfolio size to 600+ assets. Also, I will check my export settings for sRGB. Your guidance is much appreciated

My sRGB reference is my signature. Color space rules are different when it comes to video and sRGB applies to images, not videos. The standard color space for HD video is Rec. 709.

Thank you for the clarification regarding the sRGB signature and the Rec. 709 standard for HD videos.

I usually upload my videos in 4K resolution with a frame rate of 60 FPS. Could you please let me know if these settings are optimal for Adobe Stock, or if there is anything else I should adjust for 4K video submissions?

Keep submitting. You’re competing against contributors with thousands of assets in their portfolios. After 600-700 in-demand assets, you might start seeing sales. 1000-2000, more sales. And so on. Your 65 assets are small stars among a galaxy of millions. Stock is a very competitive business and it becomes more competitive every day. Good luck!
