Question

I had photos rejected due to quality issues. I would like opinions on what the problems might be.

Quality issues can mean a few different things, even if the photo looks fine at first glance.

    Common reasons for rejection include:

    • slight blur or lack of sharp focus (especially on key subjects)
    • noise or grain, especially in low-light areas
    • over-sharpening or heavy post-processing
    • compression artifacts or reduced image quality after export
    • exposure issues (blown highlights or very dark shadows with no detail)
    • lack of overall sharpness compared to Adobe’s quality standards

Sometimes the issue is subtle and only becomes visible when the image is viewed at full resolution.

If you want, you can share one of the rejected images and I can help you identify the exact problem.

The images posted above are sufficient to show why Stock refused them.

Again, focusing. And I think a better crop is needed, though preferably in camera.

Thank you, I'll keep that in mind. And what about this photo?
The original file I sent was too large; I couldn't post it here on the forum. I ended up posting a lower-quality photo instead.

Even something as small as the white speck near the upper left can result in a rejection. And since the corner leaves are out of focus, you might bring more attention to the subject by removing them.

Focusing issues primarily...or maybe the bird ruffled some feathers at the wrong time.
